Seems like Invision is removing a lot of decent features from their software.

  2. Moderators are unable to change forum usernames.

However, if I think you might be able to do it yourself:

I can see "Display Name" has where can change it. (Maybe just staff can for their own, but maybe all members can.)

On the upper right of your screen, where it shows your avatar and name, click that and go to Account Settings.

Where is all this @Burke Knight ???

It's where all is, when comes to the forum software... Lost in the wants and not gets. Don't you just love Invision forums?

Me dropping my phone over 300 times with nothing happening only with one final drop resulting in complete utter disastre

Tell me about it. Dropped my old one so many times, I figured that it was indestructible. Then it falls off the bed, onto carpeted floor, and goes dead. Thankfully, I already had my new one all set up by then, just using the old one for WiFi app testing.

I've used byethost before as well, I was one of the first resellers for byethost year 2007.

Then you should remember me and my old buddy HTMLstig, I do remember you. Welcome back.

I don't remember how long it takes, but if it takes longer than a couple hours, You should file a support ticket, just in case.

when i created  a support ticket they told me this is not possible

They'd know best, and would be the best to continue this with.

but it does not allow a client area which uses api seems like i have to find another free sub domain that allows us to change nameservers i found one a place called azote.org but now it seems they do not allow any other option

This too, you'd have to discuss with support.

For example, my users have to create an account with the thsite.top domain (which I own), but then can add additional subdomains owned by iFN in the control panel.

    Exactly.

but I believe 0lx.net was for myownfreehost only and maybe still is

I also believe that some of the Byet/iFastNet domains will only show in the dropdown for people to select in SubDomains for clients that are using free hosting via a reseller, compared to ones that are through Byet/iFastNet. Meaning that they have some domains that are set for only clients that have free hosting accounts through someone's MOFH. This could be done to try to keep better track of who has free hosting via Byet/iFastNet vs those who signed up through a MOFH.
