    unexpected behavior. So, renamed index1.html to indexBak1.html renamed default.html to index1.html now get a dir list (no default page is active) .. so back to my original question, where in Cpanel is the default page specified?

    Interesting, attempted that on notification of site setup completion and received authorization errors. Just now, worked fine. Thank you for the suggestion. Works!!

    Appears the default web page is index1.html with 0644 permissions set. wanted to change the default page to default.html. Scoured the Cpanal without luck. Suggestions?
