Hello,

php_value mbstring.http_input pass
php_value mbstring.http_output pass

I set both of this in .htaccess file to pass but get this error message in phpbb admin panel

HTTP input character conversion is improperly configured mbstring.http_input should be set to pass. You can control the data from the PHP information page.

HTTP output character conversion is improperly configured mbstring.http_output must be set to pass. You can control the data from the PHP information page.

  • c64persian changed the title to php_value mbstring.http_ not set! in free host

Another thing that I tried a lot is the file recode_cjk.php with 1.4mb size that I uploaded several times and it was incompletely uploaded(filezilla and online file manager as the same). Once it was completed, it was strangely deleted by the server.

There is no need to put your message twice in a spoiler.

Generally this happens if the file is over 10MB. If you are sure the file is smaller, it might be detected as malware and is thus getting deleted.

If it’s a PHP file the limit is 1MB

If the limit is 1MB what can I do? Why byethost installs the phpbb with Softaculous and have recode_cjk.php But when I want to copy the recode_cjk.php file from the new installation, it is not possible It is so bad that this item is not predicted Now after 15 years my site has been in trouble !

If Softaculous can bypass the file size limitations, install the application where you want it via Softaculous, then just replace its files with yours.

cant replace because many of file larger than 1 mb and dont replace

byethost must remove this limitation or close freehost

Contact https://support.ifastnet.com and explain the situation to them (ask if an exception for phpBB files such as the one you need can be made), or find different software. Unfortunately, I don't think we can help in any other wayon the forum.

I called and received this response

Hi there,

1.4mb is larger than the allowed size of a PHP file on free hosting, you would need to upgrade to a premium plan to upload this size file,

Best Regards

All these years The site was working fine Now for 1 file The site is incomplete So remove phpbb from your list Our efforts are not wasted
