Salut

Hi

Since I created my MOFH reseller account, my domain has never had SSL, no HTTPS... 😞

I don't see where it is installed, in case it needs to be done, on the panel.myownfreehost...

So what to do...

Also, does SSL install automatically or not?

Do you know a free SSL ? And easy?

I personally has the following preferences of free SSL

Most popular: Let's Encrypt

Literally LE: Google Trust Services

Longest Lifetime: TrustAsia(It's a China company so...) but its 1 year

2nd Longest Lifetime: Buypass CA - 180 days

Easiest to use: ZeroSSL (best GUI) - 90 days

2nd Easiest to use: GoGetSSL (awesome gui, but CSR is required) - 90 days

3rd Easiest to use: SSL.com (90 days, but it just gives me 100 days for some reason)

A CA that provides free SSL that you didn't know: Sectigo. (yes. it gives 90 days for free.)

Which one do you recommend me ? Between all it is SSL :

All have the same functionality and will give you a free SSL certificate, however, the first link, https://ssl.pichisdns.com/ is easier in my opinion, as the other ones have the incentives to upsell you. Choose the "Free SSL from LetsEncrypt" which will take you here https://ssl.pichisdns.com/le/PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT AND I CANNOT GUARANTEE THE SECURITY OR SAFETY OF PICHIDINS. I'm not sure if PICHIDNS will hold leverage over your SSL certificate if you use this site.

That said, there exists https://www.sslforfree.com/ which is been around for a long time and is what I use for my website's SSL certificate. I believe this is more trustworthy and is what should be used here.

SSLforFree used to be Lets Encrypt, however nowadays it just redirects to ZeroSSL.

gethttpsforfree.com requires very compilcated steps on the terminal. I wouldnt reccomend using it.

About the security of PichiSSL:

My tool is an insecure pile of crap. The only reason its still up is "because it works". However considering the age most MOFH sites reach/the security of MOFH itselt I dont feel to worried.

Some day I might relaunch this.
