In the future, will people use free domains?

Recommended Posts

As the internet expand, I believe lots of people will use free domains like the ones afraid.org has, us.to or uk.to, its very easy to use and easy to install.

Domains are fun to use, but as people want to make their way thru technology and build websites they will start using easier ways to publish themself, and then domains like these might be used more often.

What do you guys think about this, will the future use better domains and easier to use ones, like on free DNS websites? Technology advance and people want to make themself on the web like I said.

Freedns is not that bad, it works like a real domain almost, some sites on byet use the same, us.to or uk.to, the sites loads very fast as well.

I mean I don’t see them becoming much popular then they already are. Your bigger TLDs (com, net, org) will always be the most wanted ones, and will never be free.

free domains seem to be for people with tiny budgets, as soon as someone has more money they want to put into their site, a domain is often one of the first things that is bought.

Because its just DNS, afraid.org doesn't host their website. The website speed depends on the hosting provider chosen by the user

I do not think freedns works like a real domain. Their domains are not registered in the Public Suffix List, so there is no chance you will get your own SEO results

You can't use Cloudflare DNS with afraid.org

It works as a simple blog or personal profile site, but not any more

However, the cost of regular domains (in the first year) is decreasing, and theres some really cheap, lower quality tlds which even renew for cheap.

You can use eu.org; itll take forever to get approved, and its basically impossible to have your domains not consideres as spam, however you will be able to use Cloudflare DNS.
